How does ClearlyRated calculate your star ratings? Great question! Please see below for the breakdown of our calculations!

Step 1.  We gather the numerical responses from the NPS question

Step 2. We do what is called “Scale Transformation” aka “Buckets”

• NPS answers get categorized into the following buckets:

Step 3. Calculate Star Rating* using the following equation

• Multiply the number of responses of each bucket by that star rating, sum those, and divide by the total number of responses.
