Multi Factor Authentication
Instructions & Setup

 

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your login. All users have the ability to use MFA on their account and account admins can require their users to use MFA to help adhere to corporate security policies if necessary. The MFA will be in the form of a temporary code sent via email and/or SMS.

MFA Admin Settings

(You can find these settings by going to 'Company Settings' -> 'MFA')

Require MFA Menu

Always - This option requires all of your users to use MFA for each login
Adaptive - This option requires your users to use MFA, but uses login patterns (IP address, etc) to determine when to prompt the MFA, which is slightly less intrusive
User Controlled - This option allows all of your users to determine whether they'd like to enable MFA or not
Don't Allow - This option disables MFA for all users

Supported MFA Methods

Email Based OTP - Sends a One Time Password to the email associated with the user's account
Text Based OTP - Sends a One Time Password to a mobile number selected by the user in their MFA settings
Both Options Selected - Allows the user to select which method they want to use upon login

(Note: You may not see these options if your administrator has chosen your firm's MFA settings for all users)
Never - This option disables MFA
Always - This option requires MFA for each login
Adaptive - This option uses login patterns, including IP addresses, to determine when to prompt the MFA

Supported MFA Methods

(Note: You may not see these options if your administrator has chosen your firm's MFA settings for all users)
SMS - Sends a One Time Password to a mobile number selected by the user in their MFA settings
Email - Sends a One Time Password to the email associated with the user's account
Both Options Selected - Gives the user the choice upon login to send the One Time Password to either email or SMS
